at the movies
I’ve had a fear of water ever since my 8th birthday when my well-meaning grandmother took me to the movies.
Any movie you want! No rules! Obviously, she happily bought two tickets to JAWS. In Hawaii. And after years of therapy, I’ve finally learned to limit myself to showers.
No oceans, no lakes, no pools. No bathtubs. Rivers, maybe. But only if I were really, really dirty, and had a date lined up at the campfire later that evening.
So I love body wash: foam, scrub, wash, and rinse. All the while standing smack on top of tiny grated drain, protecting myself from anything that might pop out to devour me.
